Your voice is always welcome in my ears and heart. Thank you for expressing your anxiety entwined with your deep love for the beauty of nature and the great American sport of baseball (where diversity makes a team a team!)
I'm afraid it does. I just learned that the primary newspaper here, the Minnesota Star Tribune, has joined the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times in deciding not to endorse.
I just restacked this and hope it’s widely read and taken to heart. Your blazing honesty reminds me of a favorite quote: Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes it’s that quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow. Rest well, dear Susie, and sleep dreamlessly deep.
Thank you, Mary Kate. It's so provocative to me that the voice that I hear inside my head is LOUD. I think that means that I experience my thoughts and feelings intensely and that's just the way it is. But really...what's does restack mean?
Restack means I thought sending your post out to the general substack population as a note so more could read it others was a good idea. So i did.
At the end of each post where we can “like” it with a heart, we can also “restack”, with or without a note.
A note isn’t nevessary but can be a comment or question or introduction or whatever that might cause someone perusing notes to, well, 🧐“notice” 😉 the restacked post.
Like Alice, we are Canadians, and are still DAMN nervous. Your inclusion of baseball in your reflections is a wonderful reminder of the both/and, which is my primary obsession.
We watch some engaging Netflix show every night, too, which helps us cope!
Jinks....I know my Canadian friends are with me in this difficult time. Today is the first chilly, gray day in a very long while. I find that it's difficult to read in any sustained way. So yes, TV is useful but the baseball really gets the job done.
Love the fastball metaphor, and I share your gratitude for the pleasures of Minnesota, the brilliant warmth we had yesterday was a comfort. May we stay warm, and strong, whatever is ahead.
Exquisite lacework of unbearable divisions and precious moments.
Your baseball analogy SO right on.
Great to hear your voice.
Much love.
Great to be able to speak baseball. So good to hear from you.
“We have to love the world fervently “
Yes! ❤️
(Praying for the best. Already voted blue!)
Bravo!!
Hey, Mort! Cheers me up just seeing your name on the screen.

Ain't baseball grand? The Japanese players are a great addition. Thanks for all your support on and off the screen.
Very well said - and it all seems on the line at the moment.

I can understand the concern, yet how do the deciders look themselves in the mirror in the morning. Maybe that standard doesn't apply any longer.

I love this one. I think I'll share it on my fb page. I wish I could get everyone to read it.
Thank you, Pam. That would be excellent.
Thanks as always, responding is easy. Being older and trying to keep up as I want to is harder.
You all make this end of life much easier and fun. Thanks for the fun. Daryl
That's a very supportive comment, Daryl. If I'm creating something that's fun for someone, I must be doing something right!

Baseball is a wondrous game, and I get it. May it soon be possible for you to read again, in peace and joy!
post a few netflix recommendations for escaping the stress?
open to suggestion

We'll make each other warm. We'll play and break bread together and talk because that's what communities do.
I’m as stressed as anyone in America is. This election matters for the world. Thank you for your election work.
I completely agree that the stakes and stresses apply across the board.
