Oh my! I love your dream, your tasting of impermanence, the smiles of your sons. They even look a bit alike. Such a tribute to all of you. I am very moved by this particular writing, dear Susie, it makes it into my kishkes.
I was thinking more recently about the addition of new generations to our family and how each generation must for fill new roles as our life changes around us. Reading your latest words solidify my thoughts of you becoming, whether you except it or not, the matriarch status of the family!
Fabulous
I re-read this after your comment and felt a deep satisfaction. The simple pleasures, right?
Beautiful story. And we find acceptance is a practice that is getting easier, right?
It feels like a new frontier. Some days I see where the road is leading, some days I don't.

When they were children, they were the same size. They were just two little boys who were thrown together and had to figure it out all by themselves.
And now? Are they the same size?

I feel like I need a special outfit, maybe a crown. In any case...I accept the title of matriarch with pride.
That is lovely, Susie. Beautiful writing....I am always amazed!
Thank you, Patty. Wishing you a joyous Easter.
The older I get, the more I marvel at family. I've been fortunate in all the twists and turns it has taken and I am, indeed, grateful.
