And we appreciate you, Jinks. One day dark clouds are hovering, the next day the sun shines. Impermanence is for real!

With you all the way on this one, Susie. Your sisters in Canada are excited by this heartening development in your election politics. We will be watching closely to see how the Kamala's campaign progresses. If we could vote, legions of us would be supporting her at the polls. Her success would be a great moment in history for your country, my country, and indeed, the world. We wish her well!

Thank you so much for your support. I seem to have a number of friends up north that care about developments in US politics. It expands my vision and helps me to stay afloat when things get stormy.

Agree: a welcome and necessary change. I applaud Biden for stepping aside, albeit belatedly. Still, it strains belief that the contest is now a time-tested prosecutor versus A CONVICTED FELON who may still end up in prison. My gut already tells me Harris will sweep the popular vote but we all know the dirty tricks The Felon and his minions are already playing to "win" the electoral vote. And was everybody paying attention when Vance announced he "wouldn't have done what Pence did" if his Orange Master loses next time? So much more still needs to change.

We've gotten to the first landing, but not out on the roof with a clear view just yet. Speaking for myself, I'm going to have to be very careful about maintaining a balancing act of wanting to be informed but not wanting to drown in it.

We do! There's so much we could do with sane, energetic leadership.

"This culture has been failing us, but it’s not because of DEI and it’s not because of reproductive rights and a decline in church attendance. It’s at least partly because the deep well of female talent has been pushed to the sidelines." Exactly--and not just this culture, but the world for thousands, maybe even 10 thousand, years...we are so out of balance between dominance and nurturance (of all, of the earth) that we have been staggering and falling over and I have felt such fear that we've fallen and won't be able to get back up. But! There is energy rising strong now.

Yes, gusts of fresh air all over this land—Now we need to work for it, knowing that our actions are all we have control over. The outcome will be what it will be. Good luck to us!

Thanks for the well-wishing, Betsy. I know you're more experienced in this area than I am and would welcome constructive suggestions.

I would contact either the local Dem committee of some coalition of women in Minneapolis. They probably need people on the phones or canvassing neighborhoods. I hate doing both these, but it’s what works. Maybe you could work on the folks in your condo community.

Thanks, Betsy. Working right in the condo sounds like the way to go since I don't drive. Appreciate your help.

hey, better late than never. You are drop dead adorable! Personal without being egocentric. Passionate without being arrogant. Truthful without being maudlin. Authentic without being pedantic.

Yes! We’re with our time’s pioneer cross-country explorers: not at the Pacific ocean yet but we’re over the Contiental divide. So to speak. Relief, hope, renewed courage abound.

And OMG, Betty Crocker cake mix. Your writing is earth-anchored and brilliant!

Well said, Susie! ! It’s all so refreshing and exciting, and I find myself deeply moved by the turn of events and deeply grateful to Biden…the very air around us seems charged. Something very big has flipped.

I'm with her too, feeling so much more optimistic and hopeful when I wake up in the morning. That being said, if she were a "they" or an "it" or the man on the moon and still able to beat DJT, I'd be very thankful.

I know what you mean. But I think she brings a lot to the table. I loved it when she said that she "knows his type," having prosecuted a great many rapists and fraudsters in her day.

Yes, I agree that she brings a lot to the table. And I loved the "knows his type" statement. That will likely result in some misogynistic, idiotic backlash but I am glad she said it anyway because it shows what she's made of and that she's not afraid.

" It’s not just Kamala Harris herself who will take the reins in January, it’s all of us who have been led to believe that God put us here to procreate and that anything else we accomplish in this life is sugary icing on something made out of Betty Crocker cake mix. " OMG Susie K. You nailed it...again!
