In his remarkable 2011 book Becoming Animal, David Abram coined the term more-than-human world. How have you encountered that worldin recent days? And how has your deep being responded to the James Webb Telescope photos?
Copies of my 2019 essay collection, Twilight Time: Aging in Amazement, are available directly from me (signed) or from Amazon or your local bookseller.
I hadn't known anything about that telescope, or that any such work was being funded! That in itself is very exciting! It was a thrill to see the pictures and I will keep them available for viewing. Another "deep being" thrill: I read that Fin Whales, which had been hunted almost to extinction, have made a vigorous comeback in Antartica, and in another much shorter article I saw that some kind of blue parrot in Brazil, a bird that hadn't been seen for 20 years, is also making a comeback. "So there! Take that and that!" whaps nature.
Thanks for being the bearer of glad tidings. I'm thrilled about the Webb Telescope. I remember the early days of the Hubble vividly and this is yet more amazing.

I'm enjoying the swallows that hang out every night around the trees by our building, and the brilliant sunsets during the past week.
Tell me about swallows. I'm not sure I know what they look like.
Small and swooping when they fly, they look like cutouts from hard stock paper...
